We’re Back in Jacksonville, Working on Shipyards West Park

Change seems to be everywhere — the momentum established through years of incremental planning and building. The Shipyards as a whole is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape a regional riverfront destination.

Agency is leading a year-long process to create the design of Shipyards West Park, alongside an amazing team of designers, planners, engineers and engagement experts. Our work will build on previous planning efforts and improvements by the City of Jacksonville, the Downtown Investment Authority (DIA), and its partners.

The 10-acre Shipyards West is positioned to be a vibrant waterfront park in a string of public spaces that reconnect the city to its waterfront and river activity. When complete, the park will include places for gathering where users can explore nature and play, learn about the City’s history, and honor the City’s heroes, and relax while enjoying a meal with friends, fish, or simply take in the beauty of the St. Johns River.

The first of multiple public meetings for residents to look over initial plans for the park and the rest of the developments along the river will happen from 5 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 8 at WJCT Studio. We are excited to share progress and hear from you! Due to social distancing guidance and facility capacity, event attendance will be limited. Sign up via Eventbrite, here!

The Agency team includes WXY, Haskell, Acuity Design Group, DVDL, ETM, Fluidity Design Consultants, HLB Lighting Design, JLP+D, Mechling Engineering & Consulting, Meskel & Associates Engineering, Moffatt & Nichol, and Smith Surveying Group.
