We are looking for a team member who can synthesize data into clear ideas; use maps, diagrams, and imagery to tell a beautiful story; and help craft meaningful community engagement strategies. This Landscape Planner / Urban Designer role has a focus on “hybrid” projects at the intersection of landscape design and urban scale, and it will also include supporting teams on planning projects and occasionally built landscape projects at the site-scale, if aligned with professional background. The role includes interdisciplinary teamwork, direct client engagement, and relies on strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS, graphic communication, research, and analysis. Graphic design familiarity and digital modeling (2d and 3d) are desired. Candidates with landscape architecture, urban design, architecture, or related backgrounds are welcome! We strive for diversity in every aspect of work and we encourage persons from all backgrounds to apply. This position will be based in Agency’s Cambridge, MA office, although there is flexibility relating to relocation timing. Agency currently follows a hybrid schedule. We are looking for a team member who can support all aspects of community and stakeholder engagement, from design and planning for outreach activities to creating engagement materials, to facilitation, to synthesizing findings. Team members should have an interest in equitable outcomes and creative and culturally competent methods of engagement. Projects range from planning to landscape projects, including downtown/neighborhood plans, waterfront parks, built landscapes, regional plans, citywide parks plans, streetscapes, and play spaces and beyond. Most projects are for public or nonprofit clients, and all advance missions for greater equity, resilience, and beauty in our communities. This role will primarily support community engagement across a range of projects. The engagement coordination role will rely on skills in communication, logistics/organization, creativity/imagination, visual communication/graphic design, and qualitative and quantitative analysis and synthesis. Entry to mid-level candidates will be considered, with the exact role/responsibilities to be customized based on the selected candidate’s experience. We strive for diversity in every aspect of work and we encourage persons from all backgrounds to apply. This position will be based in Agency’s Cambridge office.
