Available Positions:
Urban Planner – Entry Level (Cambridge, MA)
Agency is seeking an urban planner in our Cambridge office with an interest in urban systems, physical planning, and community engagement. We are looking for a team member who can synthesize data into clear ideas and use maps, diagrams, and imagery to tell a beautiful story. Projects range from regional plans to downtown/neighborhood plans to park and open space planning. Most projects are for public or nonprofit clients, and all advance missions for greater equity, resilience, and beauty in our communities.
The urban planner role will rely on skills in analyzing and mapping urban systems and communities (demographics, land use, transportation, urban form, natural systems, etc), as well as visual communication, writing, and speaking. Necessary skills include: strong skills in ArcGIS, data analysis, research, writing, and graphic communication, as well as proficiency with Adobe Indesign and Illustrator.
The urban planner is expected to participate in client meetings and contribute to the production of a wide variety of materials such as maps, graphs/data analysis, reports, presentations, and creative community engagement activities and outreach materials. Place Maker: Landscape Architect / Designer – Entry/Mid-Level (Cambridge, MA)
Agency is seeking a landscape architect or landscape designer in our Cambridge office with strong design and graphic skills alongside a passion for the public realm. We are looking for applicants who are organized and detail-oriented, love to sketch ideas, iterate design alternatives, and enjoy working in teams. Within an interdisciplinary firm working across scales, the entry/mid-level landscape architect/designer role includes planning level collaboration as well as coordination with a wide variety of technical subconsultants. The ideal candidate brings at least a strong interest in learning the craft of site built work, including developing construction documents and participating in construction administration – demonstrated experience with site construction documentation is a welcome bonus! The position requires proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Rhino – while most of our design and documentation efforts use these core programs, experience with Revit or 3D modeling software beyond Rhino could be beneficial.
The role will require a commitment to consistent collaboration and communication within our team and our design partners as well as the desire to proactively engage mentors, dig deeply into material and technical research, and problem solve. Agency is actively seeking a landscape architect with strong design, visualization and collaboration skills alongside a passion for the public realm. We are looking for applicants who are organized and detail-oriented, love to sketch ideas, iterate design alternatives, and enjoy working in teams. Specifically, we are searching for an individual with demonstrated experience in developing design strategy to sites and places at the planning and system scale, including park master plans, park system plans, downtown plans, neighborhood plans, and corridor planning. Most projects are for public or nonprofit clients, and all advance missions for greater equity, resilience, and beauty in our communities.
A commitment to and understanding of ecological and sustainable design principles and community-engaged design process are important, as is an understanding of project processes and content delivery. The position requires proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Rhino (or another 3D modeling software). Experience with GIS and AutoCAD is a bonus.
