IFLA’s Generation R | Regenerative Perspectives / Regenerative Landscapes highlights Pawtucket Farm Wildlife Sanctuary and Sarasota’s The Bay!

Composed of over 100 projects from 42 firms, Generation R | Regenerative Perspectives / Regenerative Landscapes aims to showcase current solutions to current challenges in the landscape architecture field. With a focus on regionality within global frameworks, the publication creates a mosaic of projects that align with the themes of Resist (Resilience), Respect (Equity), Retain (Conservation), and Replicate (Actions). The publication is developed by Americas | International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) with curatorial vision, framework, lead editing, and editorial design by Jimena Martignoni. Main advisors, Pedro Camarena (Mexico) and Diana Wiesner (Colombia), and North America Advisor, Tim Schuler (United States).

Two projects from Agency are featured in the publication: Pawtucket Farm Wildlife Sanctuary, and Sarasota’s The Bay.

Pawtucket Farm Wildlife Sanctuary is a 20-acre productive landscape in Lowell, Massachusetts, that has long provided Christmas trees and produce to the community. Mass Audubon, Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust, and Mill City Grows have partnered to protect Pawtucket Farm to establish an urban wildlife sanctuary, farm, and education center for the community of Lowell. Agency’s work started with the Framework Plan in 2022, Phase 1 opened in 2021, and Phase 2 of the project began in March 2025. To read more about Agency’s role, click here.

The Bay is a 10-acre public park on Sarasota’s waterfront, transforming a previously impervious parking lot into a resilient and ecologically vibrant gathering place. Following an inclusive master planning process, the design balances community needs with environmental stewardship, integrating living shorelines, rain gardens, and denitrification systems that treat over 70 million gallons of stormwater annually. Phase 1 of the project celebrated its third anniversary last November, Phase 2 opened in fall 2025, and Phase 3 is currently underway. To read more about Agency’s role, click here.
