Agency is working with the City of Seattle on their Regional Centers plans, which assemble roadmaps for city neighborhoods that are poised for growth. These areas are set to expand dramatically over the next 20 years, necessitating additional public services, amenities, and housing.
The current focus is on three key Regional Centers: Downtown Seattle, First Hill/Capitol Hill, and Northgate. Agency is collaborating with SEVA, BRV, and BAE on all three Regional Centers Plans, as well as working with The Urban League on engagement for the First Hill / Capitol Hill Plan.
Central to this visionary effort is the City of Seattle’s Racial Equity Toolkit, ensuring that equitable outcomes are at the forefront of both the planning process and the final visions. These equity outcomes focus on ensuring the plan’s process and products reflect Seattleites’ lived experiences. For Downtown Seattle, Agency is partnering with artist LeLeita McKill to incorporate the perspectives of artists and creatives into engagement, recommendations, and policies.
Over the past year, our team has hosted a public workshop and popped up at numerous events to gather ideas from Seattleites about Downtown. This fall, we’re returning to host an exciting visioning workshop for Downtown, and a workshop focused on neighborhood experience in First Hill / Capitol Hill. Plus, we currently have an online survey where you can share your thoughts about First Hill / Capitol Hill!
