Revealing the First Phase of The New Jersey Greenway
Today, we revealed the exciting first phase of The New Jersey Greenway! Stretching nine miles from Montclair to Jersey City, this 60 to 100-foot-wide corridor follows the path of the historic Boonton Line Rail, transforming it into a vibrant, green space for visitors from near and far. The first phase, which is a mile-long stretch from Belleville to Newark, will offer multi-modal paths for walking, biking, and rolling, plus community plazas, inclusive playscapes, and a flexible lawn and stage for gatherings big and small. This is just the beginning of an inspiring journey to connect and celebrate our communities in New Jersey’s new urban oasis!
