Agency is working with the City of Seattle to create a collective 20-year vision for Downtown Seattle. The plan will include place-specific policies and the ability to focus investment and implementation tools that are guided by the community’s interests and visions for their future.
The project uses the City of Seattle’s Racial Equity Toolkit to foreground equitable outcomes as a guide for the project process and the future vision for Downtown Seattle. These equity outcomes focus on ensuring the plan’s process and products reflect Seattleites’ lived experiences, and on creating diverse and affordable housing options, employment opportunities, and a thriving downtown arts and culture community. Agency is collaborating with artist LeLeita McKill on a project aimed at bringing the perspectives of artists and creatives more closely into engagement, recommendations and policies.
In collaboration with SEVA, BRV, and BAE, the team is creating a technical analysis that addresses topics including climate change adaptation to improve health equity and ecology, housing to meet Seattle’s future needs and avoid displacement, and an analysis of land use and development patterns for long term resilience.
