In 2014, Regis College had new leadership and a new strategic plan that exemplified its values around strengthened community, fiscal engagement and character reflective of the College’s strong mission and identity. To complement these initiatives, the Regis College Campus Master Plan creates physical recommendations for the design and organization of campus that reposition Regis as a dynamic, forward-looking institution. The master plan ideas offer ways for students to experience a more pedestrian-friendly campus with inviting outdoor classrooms and gathering spaces, and new and renovated mixed-use building amenities. The plan was managed by Brie Hensold while at Sasaki.
With a clear path to implementation, several enhancements to the campus have already been completed including a new residential hall with living/learning elements, a new green quadrangle at the heart of campus (which replaces a parking lot), active ground-level mixed-use spaces around the new quad and upgrades to the library to enhance learning. Future phases of the ten-year master plan include significant renovations to the main academic building, the Chapel, the historic alumni building, the science complex, the athletics complex and residence halls.
