Popsicles, Dog Treats, and Big Ideas at Raymond Park

A second wave of engagement sessions at Raymond Park in Cambridge drew more than 250 participants during three pop-ups at the park, an open house at a nearby housing complex, and an online survey. Plentiful popsicles and dog treats kept lively conversations cool between dog walkers, soccer players, tree enthusiasts, playground-adventurers, community gardeners, neighbors, parents, and friends. Participants debated ideas illustrated in three design alternatives, filled out scorecards about key ideas, wrote and drew on a community artboard, and collected bookmarks to share the online survey with friends and family. The variety of thoughtful responses underscore that Raymond is a beloved green heart of Cambridge’s Neighborhood Nine – we look forward to analyzing the feedback and incorporating the best ideas into a renovation plan for the park that allows it to serve the community well for years to come.

Stay tuned for the next wave of engagement (with draft final plans), and stay up to date on the City of Cambridge’s website, here.
