Oregon ASLA Recognizes Albina Vision Community Investment Plan With Award of Excellence

The Oregon Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects recognized the Albina Vision Community Investment Plan with an Award of Excellence in Analysis and Planning/Research!

“This is the type of project that represents the profession well and demonstrates the value landscape architects play in shaping our communities. Bringing the community back in a complete manner from living, to working, with financial considerations is a key quality of this plan. Amazing outreach and integration with the team and community. We see great value in this plan as a tool with the ability to apply this to other cities” – Oregon ASLA Awards Jury

Agency Landscape + Planning is grateful to continue participating in the creation, implementation, and celebration of the Albina Vision Community Investment Plan. We appreciate the deep connections built among the community and design team through this process. It has been an honor to witness and support the Albina community’s commitment to revisiting the difficult, heartbreaking impacts of urban renewal, and look toward creating a bold, inclusive vision for future generations.

We’d like to share this award with Albina Vision Trust and Oregon Metro, dedicated leaders who shepherded the project; as well as El Dorado, Soapbox Theory, the Meadows Group, ECONorthwest, and Ideas and Action. We would also like to thank the wonderful community leaders who shared time and inspiration – Cameron Whitten, Bobby Fouther, Sharon Gary-Smith, Emmanuel Williams, Hobbs Waters, and many others.

We’re hopeful that this recognition – along with awards from the Boston Society of Landscape Architects and the AIA Central States – will inspire more inclusive efforts from communities in Oregon and nation-wide.

Congratulations also to the other Oregon ASLA award winners!
