Agency launched the final Shaker Square Vision Plan with a packed movie theater and an excited audience. In collaboration with Cleveland Neighborhood Progress and Burten, Bell, Carr Development Inc, we held a launch party at Atlas Cinema (located in Shaker Square) to showcase the final plan and thank the community for their participation and support.
The vision plan serves as a blueprint for Shaker Square’s next chapter, respecting its rich history while ensuring its retail mix, programming, and public spaces remain relevant for future generations. As one of the nation’s first planned shopping centers, Shaker Square was built around walkability, green spaces, mixed-use retail, and transit access—features that many new districts are striving to create today! Going forward, Shaker Square will be revitalized, not reinvented. This effort will preserve and strengthen its defining assets, breathing new life into them to welcome and inspire today’s evolving community.
Shaped by extensive community input and market analysis, this plan explores retail trends, revitalization strategies, and the inspiring potential of Shaker Square’s public spaces. By thoughtfully integrating retail and landscape design, it creates a welcoming, walkable environment that supports businesses and enhances community life —securing a bright future for Shaker Square.
