Meck Playbook: At the Finish Line

Meck Playbook is in its final stages! In December, the final report for the Charlotte and Mecklenburg County comprehensive open space, trails, and recreation plan will go before the Board of County Commissioners seeking final approval. The project has centered physical, racial, and social access to parks and programs, aiming to commit to equity across the system to make improvements and close gaps. Meck Playbook is also guided by the additional principles “Evolve and Grow,” “Tell More Stories,” and “Move Beyond Boundaries” to foster a park and recreation system that provides access to high quality parks, lowers barriers to participating in exciting and relevant programming, and ensures a diverse and healthy ecosystem for future generations.

Working with our planning team Neighboring Concepts, Rally Rally, Kimley Horn, and Berry Dunn we are excited to pass the last baton in our relay race to the finish line to Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation to create a more equitable, connected system for the County’s future!
