Kicking Off a Transformational Vision for Shaker Square

We are thrilled to be kicking off a year-long project to create a transformational vision for Cleveland’s storied Shaker Square. Led by local nonprofits Cleveland Neighborhood Progress, Burten, Bell, Carr Development, Inc. and a steering committee of local residents, stakeholders and a variety of local experts,  the plan will provide strategic guidance to inform the Square’s evolution, identity and experience.

A press release issued by the partner organizations celebrates the process to select Agency, noting our team’s diversity, local representation and passion for the Square itself.

Shaker Heights’ native Brie Hensold shared her thoughts, “We believe that Shaker Square is a significant landmark broadly and a treasure to those close by. We believe that a commitment to a sustainable and enduring vision can unlock Shaker Square’s latent potential. The future of Shaker Square must be driven by purpose and consensus. And we believe that this effort needs a visionary, yet realistic roadmap for inclusive success.”

Our team includes Cleveland-based Seventh Hill and market expertise by Streetsense.

Joy Johnson, Executive Director of Burten, Bell, Carr Development, Inc., noted “This was a rigorous selection process led by a steering committee of community residents and project stakeholders. With Agency, Streetsense, and Seventh Hill, I believe the steering committee has selected the right team to ensure that everyone’s voices are heard.”

Thanks Joy! Let’s do this!
