The Chicago Riverwalk wins Two National AIA Awards!

The Chicago Riverwalk is the recipient of two national awards – one for Architecture and one for Regional and Urban Design – from the American Institute of Architects! In a story covering the tenor of this year’s awards, Aileen Kwun of Fast Company says, ““This year’s AIA Honor Awards illustrate how sophisticated public works design has become… The Chicago Riverwalk is “a gift to the city” + an example of “design that touches everyone”.”

Gina Ford was the lead designer for the Sasaki team – working closely with Ross Barney Architects to create a cohesive overall vision for these latest phases and then leading the development of concept design through implementation for a series of key spaces – the Marina (between State and Dearborn Streets), the Cove (between Dearborn and Clark) and the Jetty (between Wells and Franklin).
