Agency is thrilled to welcome Matthew to the practice!
Matthew Macchietto is a landscape architect focused on public projects addressing social equity, community engagement, and environmental resilience. Currently a masters candidate at Harvard and part-time Agent, Matthew is passionate about how newly migrated cultural groups perceive, influence, and relate to public space in neighborhood parks. His research and field work aims to start a conversation between disciplines on how to design community open space to be more sensitive, welcoming, and adaptable to cultural and economic change.
Prior to Harvard, he received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture with distinction from the University of Nebraska. Gina and Matthew first met when Gina was the Hyde Fellow at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 2011 and recruited him for Sasaki. She’s thrilled to continue their relationship and welcome some Husker to Agency’s practice!
