Agency Opines on Growth, Parks and the Mile-High City of Denver in Next City!

As part of a series called “The Power of Parks” sponsored by the National Recreation and Parks Association, Gina penned an Opinion-Editorial in Next City on the role of parks in offsetting the impacts of growth on livability in Denver.

She asks why the lengthy discussions on growth in Denver rarely include mention of its legacy park system – and laments the very different context that its creators worked in. Along the way, she celebrates the work of many agencies and landscape architects – including the Denver Department of Parks and Recreation, the High Line Canal Conservancy, Livable Cities Studio, Sasaki, Design Workshop, and Port Urbanism – many of Agency’s current and future collaborators!
