Adventure Awaits at Robbins Farm Park Playground

We are thrilled to announce that the Agency team received unanimous approval for the final design vision for Robbins Farm Park Playground in Arlington, MA from the Town of Arlington’s Parks & Recreation Commission. The in-person public commissioners meeting was held in mid-May and culminated an eight month design and public engagement process that heard from all corners of Arlington.

The design for the Robbins Farm Park Playground renovation was lauded by commissioners for meeting park stakeholders’ and community members’ varied needs, expectations, and dreams. The commissioners and community members in attendance echoed that the playground design provided challenge and excitement for all ages and maintained a sensitivity to accessibility and inclusion, ensuring that people of all abilities could play together.

The playground design capitalizes on and brings focus to the park’s existing hillside topography, nestling play value throughout the entire journey up the hill. In addition to renovating Robbins Playground’s well-known 16-foot embankment slide, the play space will feature a pair of custom, farm-inspired play structures tucked into the hillside. These structures, called the “Adventure Sheds,” will connect the play experience across multiple levels. As one scales the hillside using the winding, ADA-accessible path, they will encounter more slides, climbing elements, and sensory nodes with engaging visual and musical play equipment. We are excited to build this playground alongside the Town of Arlington!
