A Dialogue for the Future of Albina

We had great comments, questions, ideas and inspiring conversations at last Monday’s final presentation for the Albina Community Investment Plan! The project centers on the healing and future prosperity of the displaced Black community of Lower Albina, a historic neighborhood along the Willamette River in Portland. On Monday, the design team and the Albina Vision Trust revealed a community-led plan that reclaimed the neighborhood through shared open space, housing, business development, and a 50-year wealth building and governance strategy.

We were thrilled to be part of the design team led by El Dorado, with engagement, history, and arts inspiration from Cleo Davis and Kayin Talton Davis, and EcoNorthwest, Marc Norman, and Othello Meadows tackling the challenge of creating a values-driven economics and governance strategy. We are eager to continue applying lessons learned from community leaders and advocates in our work throughout the US.
