Wilmington Greater Downtown Plan is Honored by APA North Carolina!
We are thrilled that the Wilmington Greater Downtown Plan was honored by the APA North Carolina Chapter, receiving the Marvin Collins Award for Specialized Planning! Wilmington City Council unanimously adopted the Wilmington Greater Downtown Plan in June.
This plan is a roadmap for four big goals:
- Stewarding unique architecture, culture, and sense of place
- Boosting economic opportunity and improving fiscal health
- Supporting the small business and retail economy
- Making downtown easier, safer, and more pleasant to get around
6,300+ Wilmingtonians shaped this plan through genuine co-creation at engagements like pop-ups and community dinners.
